I have been watching some illustration tutorial videos for the past few days, so last night I decided to draw something on Adobe Illustrator. I wanted something like a round logo or watercolor effects aaand this is what I came up with..
Spring break! Well it’s not spring in where I live, but who cares. That thumbnail picture for this post as you can see, is a park located in central Jakarta. The picture was taken yesterday, after the rain on Saturday afternoon at Taman Suropati. I went there by myself enjoying the atmosphere, the smell of the wet land. Then I took a 15 minutes walk to Stasiun Sudirman, walking under the big trees in Menteng, and passing some cute unadopted puppies at Latuharhary street. So even though it’s not spring here, the transition between rainy to dry season is also good. But of course I want to feel the real spring too, especially in Paris? :p Well anyway, today I decided to share some of my favourite songs which I’ve been listening to for the past weeks, and also.. a radio, and an awesome cover I found in Youtube! This is gonna be cool.
At exactly today – fifty eight years ago – my father was born in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. His parents, my grandparents, and also my mother and her whole family, they were all born in Padang, West Sumatra. But my father is just like me and my sisters, we have parents who were born in Padang but we ourselves were born and raised in Jakarta. I have many memories about him, the good and the bad. I was fourteen when he passed away that year..
“Dude, Where’s My Car?” was the first Ashton Kutcher’s movie that I have ever watched. He starred together with Seann William Scott and they were hilarious. That was the beginning I started to like Ashton (come on, he’s tall and funny!). Nine years after the movie creation, in 2009, twitter was going big. Ashton was one of its famous users with the most followers, one million! (of course I am one of them). Not to compared with current condition though – Justin Bieber has more than 60 million followers today. So, I’m not really watching all of Ashton’s movies nor following all news about him. But I think he started to be serious in start ups and computer stuff ever since, like investing in start ups company or creating his own (A+). He starred as Steve Jobs in 2013 and then at the same year he joined Lenovo as its Product Engineer. Recently, he made a speech in Lenovo’s event in Australia. He talks about the best questions, entrepreneurship, and technology. I think his speech was amazing.
I know it is already February 2015, but if I recall my memories of 2014, I would say it was a wonderful year. I mean the whole 2014 – from January to December. I am not good at words, but it was such a beautiful year so that I need to write about it here..
It is 2015 already, people are using their smart phones everywhere. But paper books (please use recycled paper) are classic, they never die. But when we have many books, it is important to have them organised. Even if you don’t read your books, arrange them so they will look good in your house. A room without a bookcase is a space wasted. So here is an example of arranged books, in illustration, and how to create it step-by-step.
Creating a website for the first time is often confusing because many options are available and we do not know where to start. WordPress, one example of tools to create a website, is a common framework used by bloggers. Personally, I would prefer WordPress than any other tools due to the large community of users, many lessons available, and mostly because I have seen many web designers customize the templates for their awesome blogs.
Last month, I was given a chance to visit my dream city of all time (I even took its language course for 4 months), the famous city of Europe, Paris. So I created a travel journal (scrapbook) of the journey, and record it on the video (I added the photos and videos of the journey too).
I know it has been months since my last running. And I’ve never planned to run during my stay in Stockholm. But you see, the second day of me in Stockholm, there was the Stockholm Marathon. And every day I go outside, I will see people in running shoes, and they are running. How can I resist?
Hej! So, where was it, Sunday 1st of June on Tyresta National Park. The next few days I didn’t go too much, I went to Gamla Stan again. There I saw a cool store called “Science Fiction Bokhandeln”. Any science fiction you name it, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Star Trek, Marvel, The Big Bang Theory. I’m not really a fan so I just know a few. But you find everything here from books, dvds, comics, tshirts, souvenirs, harry potter’s wand, or video games. Ok continue.. I also went to Bibliotek Plattan at Kulturhuset. I don’t speak Swedish (yet) so I was there just for few minutes.
